This is an old Imari ware 7-inch plate from the mid-Edo period. Waves and cherry blossoms are depicted using the sumi-hiki (ink-repelling) technique. The five-petaled flower in the center is konnyaku-inban (a type of stencil printing). Diameter: 200mm *Approximate size. Condition: There is a chip on the rim. It has been filled with putty.
