A Spode coffee cup & saucer from the British pottery manufacturer, Spode. This is from the Flemish Green series. It has a simple design, painted entirely in a pastel green color. The pale green color is beautiful, and the cup is well-made. The color in photo 9 is closest to the actual item. It's from around the 1960s-70s and is quite valuable. Regarding the condition, there are no noticeable chips or cracks. It has been carefully displayed in a china cabinet, so it's in very good condition for a vintage item. During and after World War II, from 1942 to 1952, the British government prohibited the manufacture, sale, and export of high-end tableware with elaborate decorations. Only "practical" products were permitted. The "Flemish Green" series was created against this backdrop. "Flemish Green" was manufactured from 1949 to 1973, and by the time production ended, it had become a very popular series in the UK. Due to the historical background, a calm and soothing green color was born.
