I am listing this rod because I purchased it new for Hiramasa casting, used it for several years, but my preference for feel changed and I no longer have opportunities to use it. It has a light tip section and a blank that is stiff overall, making it a great rod that is very light yet has solid butt power. I think it will suit those who like a sharp rod with a fast taper. Unfortunately, I haven't hooked any fish large enough to fully utilize the butt, so I don't think the rod has lost its backbone. However, as shown in the images, there are scratches overall, including cracks in the guide wrapping due to use, dents and shine on the grip, and scratches on the blank and guide wrapping. The images focus on areas with scratches, but there is almost no rust at the base of the guides, and no scratches on the guide rings. Please judge the condition of the product from the images. None of the scratches are deep and do not affect the strength, but those who are concerned about the appearance may want to refrain from purchasing. If you are able to apply epoxy, you can almost completely hide the scratches around the wrapping. How about this rod for those who want to try bluefish casting for Hiramasa or Buri from a boat, or for those considering a backup tackle? The only accessory is the original rod bag (no rod belt included). *This is a used item, so there are scratches and dirt from use.
