Kuwata covered over 170 songs by himself, including Showa-era kayokyoku, enka, group sounds, folk songs, new music, and even Heisei-era J-POP, parodying the NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen to create a grand musical show. Regarding this, the website of the related program later explained, "Kuwata, who started his music career admiring Western music, rediscovered the splendor of Japanese popular music as he gained experience, a feat only he could accomplish."
