Akita Kawatsura Flower Lacquer Urushi Craft Fuki Square Serving Dish This is a very beautifully lacquered square serving dish. It's a shame you can't see the real thing, which is even better than the pictures (^^) The "flower lacquer" technique, the final topcoat process, is a key feature. The finish, which doesn't involve polishing the lacquer, highlights the original luster and texture of the lacquer (quoted). This is a very elegant item. The gentle curves are very nice. It has been stored at home for a long time, so although it is unused, it is being sold with some scratches and stains. Purchased at Matsuzakaya Department Store several decades ago.
