The filter frame has little wear and looks clean. I can't capture it in a photo, but when held up to the light, both filters have what appears to be dirt? visible depending on the angle (the degree of dirtiness varies slightly). It's not too bad, but I don't know if it will affect the actual image quality. I wiped it with a lens cloth, but it didn't come off. How about using it to protect or modify old lenses?
