While there are conditions and verdigris due to aging and weathering, it is a valuable and antique piece. ※ Height: 29.8cm ⚫︎ History of Buddha Statues The first Buddha statues in India were created in Gandhara and Mathura in northern India around the 1st century AD. During this period, the Kushan Empire ruled from northern India to Central Asia, and Buddhist art flourished greatly. In particular, in Gandhara, art depicting the Buddhist legends of the life of Shakyamuni developed. Supernatural events are included in the stories to show the greatness of Shakyamuni.
