This is a ceramic standing statue of Kannon Bosatsu (Avalokiteśvara), made by the renowned Hagi-yaki kiln "Yamato Shoroku." The artist is Yoshitaka Yamato. A wooden box (kyobako) is included, and the inscription on the box indicates the provenance of the work. The entire piece is enveloped in a soft Hagi glaze, and the serene and compassionate expression of the Bodhisattva is impressive. It has a simple elegance, and you can feel the warmth and tranquility unique to Hagi-yaki.
