I wanted to make use of branches and leaves that aren't used in forestry, and I wanted to use products made from forest products in my daily life, so I started making sugidama (cedar balls). These are sugidama made using Japanese cedar leaves collected in Hiroshima Prefecture. This product was completed on October 18th. The leaves were just cut, but some have turned brown because it took some time to make them. Please check the photos. Materials: ・Cedar leaves ・Stainless steel wire for the core ・Red shuro rope I made them with the simplest materials possible so they can be easily separated and disposed of after use. The shuro rope is attached long, so please cut it or adjust the length to your liking. Sugidama are known as lucky charms that are hung at sake shops to indicate that new sake has been made. Of course, they would be great for sake lovers to display, but they can also be used to decorate eaves or gardens, or as displays and interior decorations to create a nice atmosphere. They can also be decorated like wreaths. I hope you will feel free to incorporate them into your life. As they age, they will change from green to brown, which is also part of their charm.
