This is a section of a ring-cut stump from a Yakusugi cedar. Size: Width: 52cm at the longest point Height: 19cm at the longest point Thickness: 3.0-3.7cm I counted approximately 200 rings. The center of the tree is not included in this product, but it is estimated that the diameter of the tree was 45-50cm. A tree of this diameter and over 200 years old indicates that the ring width is narrow. Yakusugi cedar grows slower than mainland cedar, and only grows a little at a time. This is why the rings are very dense, resulting in the unique Yakusugi. I have included photos to show the ring width (mm, cm). It has only been polished with paper and no paints or coatings have been used. I think it can be used as an object or processed and used as a stand for ornaments with natural paint. I don't think a part of a cedar grown on Yakushima will be sold in a raw wood state. Thank you for considering your purchase.
