・Asahi Toy Model Pet No. 5 Datsun Bluebird 1/42 ・This model is the 310 series, which succeeded the Datsun 211 series that appeared in 1959 and was the first to bear the name Bluebird. It is a model of the 1200 Deluxe, the higher-grade version, with the early-model features of the small "kaki-no-tane" (persimmon seed) taillights and overriders on the front and rear bumpers. ・This miniature car was released in July 1960 and is one of the earliest products in the Model Pet series, which became Japan's first full-fledged miniature car series starting in October 1959. ・This miniature car was sold for about two years before the mold was changed and the later model was released as No. 17 in June 1962. The seats were improved in No. 17, and this No. 5 only has the seatless specification. ・This is a very old miniature car, and although the details such as the lights, grille, and bumpers are painted, it has excellent modeling and deep carving, which is typical of the early Model Pet products. ・In the same era as this model, it was a joint work with Daisenya (the early friction series) (released in 1961), but that one has a standard specification without overriders on the bumpers. Although the taste of each modeling interpretation is different because they are products from an old era, this Model Pet has the charm of being a full-fledged miniature car. ・Also, as a recent model, Tomica Limited Vintage has released a modern small-scale model, and although the scale is different, you might enjoy displaying them side by side. ・Regarding the condition of this individual, it appears to have been carefully stored as a long-term collection item, and there is almost no paint peeling. However, many of the existing products of this model number have very noticeable paint deterioration due to aging, and this individual is no exception. In addition, there are slight paint cracks from the left headlight to the front fender. These aging changes are thought to be due to the components of the die-cast material, and are sometimes seen in old die-cast miniature cars such as Diapet.
