There is no difference between the front and back. ★ Regarding the material, I only know that it is old and a natural material. It may be silk because it resembles crepe, or it may be a cotton blend. It has a horizontal stiffness like raw hemp, and it returns to its original shape even when pleated. I recommend a flat style when hanging. ★ The fabric is vintage, so it's not new, but it's also not used. It was made by cutting a bolt of fabric and sewing it into a noren. It has not been worn by anyone or remade from a disassembled kimono. ★ The color is a subdued, dark gray like ink. It has a sheer quality like ro (silk gauze) or sha (silk gauze).
