This invention helped spread the culture of the privileged class to the middle class, establishing Wedgwood's position as a folk kiln. [ Kutani Crane ] Manufactured from 1971 to 1998. This series was designed with inspiration from Kutani ware produced in the southern part of Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. It is believed to have been inspired by works of Kutani ware, known worldwide as a masterpiece, featuring phoenixes gorgeously depicted in five colors: blue (green), yellow, red, purple, and indigo blue on a white background. The peacocks and flowers depicted in oriental colors on the creamy white of bone china are magnificent. What is surprisingly not well known is that color variations such as BIDEFORD and gold-trimmed versions were also produced in the past.
