This is a silk obi (a type of Japanese sash) with an otaiko pattern. The base color is silver. The floral Shosoin pattern is luxuriously woven with pastel-colored metallic threads. It has been treated with Pearl Tone processing. It also has a signature (rakkan). There is slight discoloration along the fold lines. There are wrinkles from storage. It was worn for celebrations. Although it is an item of some age, it is gorgeous and beautiful, and can be worn stylishly even with modern kimonos.
