While it's a classic reel, the body is made using a new technology: aluminum machine-cut construction. Click-and-pawl drag. ★ Although it's a no-name brand, it's made by a manufacturer that produces OEM reels for famous brands, so the quality is solid. There's almost no play (wobble) in the spool even when you shake the handle knob (be careful, as excessive play can cause the line to get caught and snag, or slip through. Even some famous brand reels have this issue). ★ The rotation accuracy is good, and it spins smoothly. Both forward and reverse rotation produce a pleasant clicking sound. The drag provides a moderate and consistent resistance. ★ Ambidextrous (suitable for both left and right-handed use) ★ There is a small discoloration on the brass part in the center (see the last photo). Brass will eventually change color from gold to a duller hue with use. ★ There may be minor scratches, abrasions, and discoloration.
