This is a red professional percussion guiro that is no longer sold. It's a vibrant, glossy red, and I don't think any other manufacturers currently sell guiros in this color. The grooves are carefully rounded one by one, making it easy to play. I enjoyed using it. The rubber ring in the finger hole felt uncomfortable, so I removed and discarded it. I've replaced it with special Japanese tape for comfortable playing. I also removed and discarded the black rubber from the opening and wrapped it with tape as well. Without the rubber touching my fingers, it now feels similar to playing a gourd guiro. The appearance is also cleaner without the black rubber, and the removal of the rubber's weight makes fast playing easier, which is a bonus. The included beater didn't bring out the best in this guiro, so I discarded it. I will include a guiro beater with a good match in terms of material, thickness, and length.
