This is a lacquered wooden box that has been stored for a long time. The front of the lid has a gold base with traditional children's illustrations. The back of the outer box reads "confectionery bowl, granulated white sugar, Dainagon," leading me to believe it was originally a gift for celebrations containing these items. It's possible only the box was kept because it was beautiful. The dimensions with the lid on are 22 cm wide, 31 cm long, and 4.5 cm high. The lid has some scuffs and dirt, but the box itself is undamaged. Please consider it for organizing small items like postcards and photos.
