The creator is Yuri Yokomizo, a former designer in the San-X Production Headquarters Design Department and now a freelance illustrator. She is in charge of both the illustrations and the text. The hiragana "sumikko" refers to the place, and the katakana "Sumikko" refers to the characters, which are used differently.
