The E531 series has been active on the Joban Line since 2005. It is a suburban AC/DC train that supports the AC section beyond Toride on the Joban Line. It operates over a wide area, from Haranomachi in the north to Shinagawa in the south. The currently active E531 series features gray underfloor equipment, and the included 5-car formation has a platform position detection device installed on the front skirt and a safety confirmation camera installed on the side skirt. The power unit uses a slotless motor, allowing you to enjoy smoother and quieter running performance. In addition, the car numbers of each set are changed, and the 5-car set of the attached formation reproduces the platform position detection device on the front skirt.
