This is a vintage, lidded compote from Hammersley of England, founded in 1887, in the Howard Spray pattern. This is a more luxurious version of a footed piece I previously listed. It's a good size, and seems versatile for use, such as holding sweets or candies✩.*˚ This popular lidded compote is a rare find even overseas✩.*˚ The floral pattern is painted on the sides and the entire lid, making it a very gorgeous piece✩.*˚ You rarely see this in Japan. I love Hammersley and have collected these by importing them from overseas. ★Condition★ There is a very slight scuff on the gold trim on the top of the body when the lid is removed, but the other gold trim is sparkling and without peeling, and it is very glossy, and the item does not feel used.
