This type makes a sound when it boils. The lid closes tightly. The handle only bends 90 degrees, so you don't have to worry about it getting hot by touching the body. It can be used with gas or IH cooktops. I used it for about a year. After that, I stored it without using it. There is some clouding on the surface and clouding on the bottom due to heat, but there are almost no burns, rust, or noticeable scratches or stains. Of course, I will wash it before sending it, but please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about minor imperfections.
