The words "Hammer Brand" were added above around 1882. Ad knife for E.H.Best & Co. Boston Mass as shown, and Woolens Felts on the reverse. The large blade has a half-stop and good snap, and the smaller blade has a half-stop and open snap. The blades show some signs of use and some staining due to age. A very rare knife from a famous maker of the past for your collection.
