Antique T.G. Green CORNISHWARE (Cornish Ware) A rare set of two cups & saucers with a hard-to-find, vintage backstamp, made in England. Made by T.G. Green, a company founded in England in 1864, starting around the 1920s. The blue and white striped pattern was inspired by the blue skies and white waves of Cornwall, hence the name "Cornish Ware," and it remains a beloved design today. The iconic blue stripes of CORNISH WARE are created by layering blue clay onto a white body, then removing the blue clay to create the stripes. Upon close inspection, you can see the texture of the stripes, which adds to their charm. Purchased about 30 years ago and kept on display in a china cabinet, these items are unused. They are in beautiful condition, but both saucers show crazing. Please check the images. Made in England (Current products are made in China, so these are valuable items) This church backstamp is a rare find nowadays. Due to its long history, it is expected to become more valuable with age. This product is difficult to obtain in Japan, so it's perfect for those who are looking for it... Cup / Height: approx. 7cm, Diameter: approx. 9cm (top) Saucer / Diameter: approx. 16cm I love antique enamelware, dishes, cream jars, and marmalade jars, and I've collected many, but I've decided to start organizing my collection and am putting these up for sale. I hope to pass them on to someone who will cherish them.
