Gen'emon Kiln "Sometsuke Nishiki Ume Chimon" Teacup ⚫︎Pattern: The exterior features white plum blossoms on an indigo background, with plum blossoms in red and green adorning the band. Small flowers also line the inner rim of the cup, showcasing meticulous painting. ⚫︎The "Gen'emon" mark is painted in blue on the inside of the foot. ⚫︎It has a plump shape with a slightly high foot. ⚫︎The wooden box is inscribed with "Sometsuke Nishiki Ume Chimon Chano" (Tea cup). ⚫︎The cup is beautifully painted even on the inside, and the high foot gives it a luxurious feel, making it a truly beautiful piece. ⚫︎It would be wonderful for tea, of course, but also for serving vinegared dishes or boiled vegetables, or even as a dessert bowl for things like shiratama (mochi balls) or fruit punch.
