This is a special dip net (tamo-ami) for catching glass eels (shirasu-unagi). Designed to be inserted into the "corners" where they have no escape – riverbanks, revetments, and alongside blocks. This is a practical, no-frills dip net designed for use in the field. The stainless steel frame is made of 3mm round bar, and the stainless steel mesh uses 20-mesh with a wire diameter of 0.29. The tip has an angled opening. The approximate size of the dip net is: 18cm (including the diagonal part) in length, 16cm in width, and 15-17cm in depth. The handle is about 12-13cm long. Due to its conical shape, it is easy to catch eels near walls, revetments, corners of blocks, and around rocks. * All items are handmade with care and soul.
