It carries the meaning "There is only a cloud above the gods," expressing the respect people have for the gods. Since the kamidana is for enshrining the gods, it is considered disrespectful to have objects or people above it. The character for "cloud" (雲) represents that the space above is heaven, with nothing and no one above. This is used when you live in an apartment or a two- or three-story house, and there are people living on the floors above the room where the kamidana is placed, and they walk above the place where the kamidana is enshrined. The size is approximately 17.3cm in height and 14.3cm in width. I think it's just the right size, not too big and not too small ✿ It was written with gold ink on elegant and beautiful patterned white Japanese paper ✿ This is not something that can be made quickly by a machine, but a handmade work that is the only one in the world, created with care and time (*^^*) How about it for the gods and your ancestors?
