The incised comb marks around the edges also add an accent, resulting in a simple yet beautiful and tasteful item ^_^. ◉What is Gohonte?◉ It is a phenomenon where the iron content in the clay appears as pale pink spots or mottled patterns due to reduction firing, or the vessel itself. It is a type of "kiln change." The name comes from the red spots that accidentally appeared when "model (Gohonte)" tea bowls sent from Japan during the Azuchi-Momoyama period were fired in Korea. ※Because the vessels are glossy, the color may appear slightly different depending on the lighting and type. Please understand. The size is approximately 13.5 cm in diameter and approximately 5.3 cm in height. As they are handmade on a potter's wheel, there may be slight variations in size, but there are no extreme differences. The high foot gives them a presence, and they make food look great! As individual plates, they are suitable for various dishes such as grilled food and Japanese food. They can also be used as a serving dish for sashimi ^_^. For serving desserts and fruits as well. As a condiment dish for a banquet, you can pile up chopped green onions and ginger, and place them all over the table, which is quite convenient. I bought these at a department store in Tokyo a long time ago and loved them, but they were buried in a move shortly after. Since I don't plan to use them immediately, I will put them up for sale while they are still in good condition. They were carefully packed, so they are unused and in beautiful condition.
