The surface is made by placing scraps of old cloth and boro on a thin interfacing, layering cotton cloth, and sashiko stitching with a sashiko machine. The lining is made by sewing scraps onto cotton cloth with a sewing machine. Size: 23 cm x 23 cm How about using it as a pot stand, a vase mat, or a slightly larger coaster? I made this piece out of a hobby and am listing it because I want someone to see it. It's handmade by an amateur. There are imperfections in the stitching, and the spacing between stitches is uneven, so it's full of amateur qualities.
