Pre-war bayonet practice wooden rifle. No rubber plug. The stock is inscribed with: Katsuta District, Yoshino Village. This Yoshino Village was abolished on March 31, 1954, due to a new merger, so it is from the pre-war era, over 70 years ago. The wooden rifle has scars from training during the war, showing how intense it was. There are also signs of insect damage due to long-term storage. Please check the photos. Size (approximate): Length: 167cm Pre-war bayonet practice was developed as a unique Japanese martial art based on the bayonet practice introduced from France during the Meiji era, and was widely practiced in school education and military training. The purpose was to cultivate the spirit of Bushido, to train physical and mental strength, and to gain confidence in victory in hand-to-hand combat. Mainly in school education and military training, thrusting techniques were trained using wooden rifles (mokuju).
