I am selling this item to organize my collection. This is a heavy, hand-held, so-called "Kurawanka" dish. However, compared to typical Kurawanka dishes, this one is superior in terms of the sometsuke (blue and white underglaze), design, and firing, making it, I believe, an early Ko-Imari ware dish. With its smooth, creamy porcelain surface, the five-petaled flower design on the inside, created using the konnyaku-inban (a type of printing technique), and the free and dynamic brushwork of the sometsuke, this dish might be something that Ko-Imari enthusiasts would want to own.
