This is an authentic Swiss Army wool jacket. Switzerland is a permanently neutral country and has maintained its own military equipment for many years. After World War II, new regulations were established in 1949, and the TAZ57 (TASS57) camouflage, also known as Alpen camouflage, was introduced and adopted in the late 1950s, but there were no major changes in the design of wool jackets and coats. This jacket was introduced in the 1970s and, while it doesn't differ much in design from the model used in the 1950s, the waist pockets have been changed to slit pockets without gussets. The fabric is thick wool. The lining is a smooth, slippery fabric like cupro, providing a comfortable fit. The front can be opened and closed with four buttons, which feature the Swiss cross, the Swiss national emblem. There are four front pockets. There is an inner pocket on the inside of the left chest that can hold a notebook, etc., and can be secured with a button. There is also an inner pocket on the lower left abdomen that can hold a bandage, which can also be secured with a button.
