This mouthpiece was developed for British brass band use. Both the upper and lower throats have been expanded to a thicker #21 compared to the original. It has a somewhat shallow cup, but feels deeper than a typical Es-cor mouthpiece. I think it produces a sound that fits not only for back row players, but also for concert bands and orchestras.
