This is a vintage Junghans wall clock made in the 1940s. I purchased it directly from someone in Germany a few years ago. I enjoy collecting wall clocks and table clocks, and honestly, I can say I've never encountered anything better than this masterpiece. From the 1930s, Junghans' highest-end line was given the title "Meister," meaning "master" in German. As befitting its top-tier status, the body is made of solid wood with a shellac finish, a high-quality coating also used on violins. It features brass indices, an ivory white metal dial, and a glass dome with intricate brass detailing. The shellac finish provides a deep luster, as well as excellent resistance to friction, oil, water, and durability. This clock was originally a mechanical hand-wound timepiece, but it has been professionally converted to a quartz movement, so it runs accurately with just a single D-cell battery. There are no operational issues. There is no second hand; only the hour and minute hands move quietly. Considering its age, it is in excellent condition, but there are minor scratches and scuffs in places that are not visible in the photos. The back has some scratches from hanging, and the back cover was removed when the movement was replaced. The dial is clean. There are scuffs on the corners as shown in the photos. The dimensions are approximately 25cm x 25cm x 6cm. Recommended for those who like Mid-Century or Postmodern styles.
