I stored this after dry cleaning without using it. I bought it as a set with an inner down jacket, but I wear the down jacket more often, so I haven't worn this much. It has snaps to attach a down jacket, so I think you can wear it with your own inner down jacket. It's not flimsy; it feels sturdy.
