It was adopted for railway clocks in various countries around the world, and the first railway clock adopted by Japanese National Railways was a Waltham. After World War II, the center of watch production moved from America to Switzerland, and Waltham also moved its headquarters to Switzerland in 1954. This individual is a manual winding model manufactured in the 1960s. The dial has an applied "W" at the 12 o'clock position and a simple bar index design.
