This is a rain skirt from Zpacks, a favorite of UL hikers. You can quickly take it out and put it on. It's very easy to move in and has good ventilation. The waist has an elastic drawcord that can be tightened to prevent it from slipping. It has a gentle conical shape, and you can open the zipper as needed, so it won't get in the way of your leg movements. When opened, it becomes flat and can be used as a small ground sheet or a place to put your gear before setting up your tent. There are loops at the four corners and the center of the sides, allowing you to hang it to dry or peg it down. To store it, simply roll up the kilt and secure it with the waist elastic. No stuff sack is needed. You might be worried about whether it will get wet compared to rain pants, but there's almost no difference unless it's a heavy rain and strong wind. It's truly stress-free because you don't have to take off your shoes, and it dries quickly.
