Downsizing at my parents' house. This is a hanging scroll, as shown in the photo, that was displayed in the alcove of a Japanese-style room. It's a product of Benrido, a company in Kyoto. Overall size: 61 x 140 cm, painting size: 47 x 57 cm. It's a reproduction of the Amitabha Pure Land painting from the wall of the Horyu-ji Temple's Kondo Hall, number 6. This hanging scroll was ordered at the Horyu-ji Kondo Mural Exhibition held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum in 1995. It was a limited-time, made-to-order product, and is no longer available, making it a difficult item to obtain. It will be sent in the wooden box shown in the photo. The series of photographs taken by Benrido in 1935, documenting the murals, are said to be unique and valuable cultural materials, offering the only glimpse of the original appearance before the fire damage in 1949.
