The neck area has volume, so I think it will be warm even without a muffler or stole. The pockets have zippers, so you don't have to worry about losing anything. I usually wear a size M, and it fits just right. I've worn it a few times and it's relatively clean, but there is a black spot on the back, and there are faint stains on the front. The stains on the front are hidden when the snaps are closed. Both are barely noticeable due to the wrinkles characteristic of down, but please check the photos and understand.
