I purchased this around 2012 directly from Mr. Segawa. It's a bamboo root walking stick, 85cm in length. When I inquired about a bamboo root whip, he said, "A walking stick is too weak for a bamboo root whip; it can't be used unless it's thick. I have one with 19 nodes, so I'll send it." I had the image of Chaplin's walking stick, so we had this kind of exchange. I kept thinking I'd use it someday, but I never did. Every now and then, I'd look at it and couldn't bring myself to part with it. As he is the last craftsman, and good materials are unavailable, I decided to list it for those who are interested. The white cloth bag was made by Mr. Segawa's wife.
