Thank you for viewing. This is a namasu dish purchased at an antique market. First of all, the colors are vibrant. The Taisho Roman design still resonates with me today. Is the design on the inside a chrysanthemum pattern? A cute, slightly bright blue stamp is applied. The surroundings are divided by windows. One has a vermilion background with a row of plum blossoms. The vertical window to the right, if you look closely, has bamboo and pine. Combining these, we have pine, bamboo, and plum, a symbol of good fortune. This is Taisho design. It's innovative. The adjacent scene is a landscape with a house and mountains. The dignified figure on the bridge is impressive. They are standing with their arms crossed, and there appears to be a naginata (polearm) at their side. Since naginata was included in physical education at girls' schools at the time, this interpretation doesn't feel out of place. Enjoying the historical context like this is part of the fun of antiques. There is a clam-shaped chip on the rim. Otherwise, it appears to be kiln marks.
