Nakamichi ZX-9 cassette deck, junk item. Manufacturer: Nakamichi Model: ZX-9 I purchased this used over 25 years ago and used it. I used it for a while, but stopped listening to tapes and stored it for a long time. Condition: There are signs of use (scratches, rust) due to use and storage, but there are no major scratches. The tape selector cover is missing (6 pieces). Operation: The power turns on, and tapes can be set, but the tape does not start moving even when the play button is pressed. Rewind, fast forward, and record pause functions light up, and the sound of the motor turning inside can be heard, but the tape does not start moving. Since the motor sound can be heard, it seems that the internal belts have deteriorated. Input/output: Only the SOURCE sound source has been confirmed. Sound is output on both L and R channels. The level meters are also moving. There is no scratchiness in the Output and Rec Level (L, R) volume controls. There is some scratchiness when switching the Monitor on the operation panel. The switch becomes normal when the knob is touched, so the Monitor switch is a little unstable. For bias and level adjustments on the operation panel, the lamps light up and the level meters are displayed, but the tape does not move, so operation cannot be confirmed. Azimuth operation has also not been confirmed. When I used it before, the bias, level, and azimuth adjustments all worked normally in the three positions (normal, chrome, metal). Please refer to the photos for the recording and playback heads. I also used other cassette decks, so I didn't use this one frequently. This is a very high-performance model. Please consider purchasing it with the assumption that maintenance will be required.
