19th-century Italian antique. A handmade, large-sized round doily, approximately 42cm in diameter, featuring beautiful open cutwork flowers throughout and edged with bobbin lace trim. From the center outwards: ✧ Orchids? ✧ Small flowers with four petals ✧ Bellflowers? They also look like angels spreading their wings ✧ Flowers with four and six petals ✧ Tulip/Lily of the Valley-like flowers ✧ Pristine linen fabric ✧ Belgian? bobbin lace trim Countless flowers are densely arranged. It's as if the flowers are holding hands, giving the impression of looking down on a flower bouquet. The edges are all hemmed with fine stitches using strong, thin linen thread, making them resistant to fraying. Both the veins of the leaves and the outlines of the petals are embroidered in relief, making them clear, three-dimensional, and vivid. Very artistic. A rare piece, like a painting or art. The color is a clean, gentle, and mellow bright ivory, ecru. The thread is of medium fineness, smooth, and has a soft, relaxed feel. It is thinner and has a softer texture than the doily previously offered.
