This is a hair ornament for Shichi-Go-San (the traditional Japanese festival for children aged three, five, and seven), made with tsumami zaiku (folded and pinched fabric). It uses both rayon crepe and silk. The dangling parts are removable, and it's made with a three-pin clip that's easy for small children to use. Tsumami zaiku is weak against water and pressure.
