A lovely small red rectangular tray with peony carvings. Approximately 24 x 14.8 cm. It was displayed on a bookshelf. I believe it is a vermilion-lacquered item from Murakami, Niigata Prefecture. Upon close inspection, there are fine scuff marks. There is a slight scratch on the edge around the center in photo 4. It is a good quality item with an elegant vermilion color. It would also be lovely for storing small items.
