Shunrai Kurosawa (黒沢春来) was a Japanese calligrapher and one of the key figures in the calligraphy world of Tomioka City, Gunma Prefecture. He is known as one of the three calligraphers, along with Shoun Shimizu and Ryuun Mizutani, who laid the foundation for calligraphy in Tomioka City. Furthermore, Shunrai Kurosawa was featured in the special exhibition "Group of Ink Souls - 48 People of Mainichi Calligraphy" at the Mainichi Calligraphy Exhibition, in the field of large-character calligraphy, and is considered one of the calligraphers who contributed to the development of contemporary calligraphy from the late Showa period to the end of the Heisei period. His works are characterized by powerful and dynamic brushstrokes, and he particularly demonstrated his talent in large-character calligraphy. In addition, the Tomioka City Museum of Art exhibits the works of local calligraphers, including Shunrai Kurosawa, contributing to the promotion of local culture.
