Thank you for viewing. This piece was purchased about 20 years ago from an antique shop in Kichijoji. The back has "成化年製" (made in the Chenghua era) written on it, so I researched it. It seems to be a Chinese era name, and although the exact age is unknown, it appears to be from the Edo period. The surface is in beautiful condition, with almost no scratches or wear, and you wouldn't think it was old. However, as shown in the fourth photo, there is a slight chip on the foot. It's not a very noticeable part, and it seems like quite a bit of time has passed since the chip occurred, as the edges are rounded. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned. The flower-shaped form, the peony arabesque on the inner rise, and the pine, bamboo, and plum painted in the center are beautiful sometsuke (blue and white) designs. It's a medium-sized bowl, perfect for salads, simmered dishes, stews, and more, making it a versatile piece. I hope it will be cherished by someone who will use it with care.
