There are no tears, but there are paint marks and the teacher's signature. It's not falling apart and is still usable, but please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about used books. Volume 2 is relatively clean. Both acrylic and oil paintings are included. The books by Ross Stallcup have considerable wear and tear due to heavy use. The binding was not originally very good, and the pages have come loose from the cover, some of which have been repaired. I would like to sell these to those who understand this. I am not currently considering selling individual books.
