The item I am offering for sale is a Royal Copenhagen Blue Fluted Half Lace Soup Cup (with lid) & Saucer, unused, in excellent condition, discontinued, made in Denmark, 1st quality. ~Half Lace~ Royal Copenhagen's iconic Blue Fluted series has been a long-selling series since 1775. There are three series: Plain, Full Lace, and this series, which features embossed (raised) designs, is called "Half Lace." It has the most balanced design of the three series. The Copenhagen (cobalt) blue, hand-painted meticulously by the painters, is refreshing, and its soft coloring, which looks like a mist, is very attractive. The patterns and lace edging elegantly enhance the food and table setting. And the delicate snail-shaped knob on the lid is very cute and soothing. Size (approx. cm) Lid: Diameter 12 Cup: Diameter 11 x Width 15 x Height 6.4 (Maximum height including lid knob: 10) Saucer: Diameter 16.4 x Height 2.4 I purchased this item about 20 years ago and have kept it at home unused. Although it is a casual inspection, it is a very beautiful item, almost new, as it has been carefully stored wrapped in cushioning material and protective paper, and I have not found any particular defects. Of course, it is a 1st quality item made in Denmark with no scratches on the backstamp. This item is very valuable and is very difficult to obtain today.
