Acquired from an antique shop. This is a genuine item, offered from Morioka (Iwate), the authentic source. Although water has never been put in it, there are areas where rust has surfaced due to long-term storage. The interior has an enamel coating and is in a very clean condition. This item cannot be placed directly over a flame. The surface has a satetsu (iron sand) finish, and when the lid and body are struck together, a beautiful, indescribable sound resonates. It seems that many people use it just to listen to this sound. A box and other accessories are included, but it is unknown if all the accessories are present.
