【Modern Masterpieces: Ogura Hyakunin Isshu】 This is a deluxe framed edition published by Mainichi Shimbun on November 30, 1980. It was likely purchased by my mother, who ran a calligraphy class until about 25 years ago. Size: 44cm (height) x 31.7cm (width) x 6cm (thickness) Inside a purple folding box, the works (printed papers) are wrapped in blue paper and then in semi-transparent thin paper. They contain one poem each written by 100 contemporary calligraphers. (Photos 1-7) In addition to the works, there is an explanatory booklet, a paper with photos of all the works (Photo 11), and a red cover. The explanatory booklet has a colophon and the original price is also listed. (Photos 8, 9, 10) On the lower right of the back of each work, there are pencil numbers that appear to have been written by my mother to indicate the order of the works, but they have been left as is to preserve the quality. (Photo 18) There is a slight stain on the right edge of the first work, next to the characters on the 99th work (Photos 15, 16), and a slight crease on the upper left of the 100th work (Photo 17), but no other stains or creases are visible on the other works. The semi-transparent paper has wrinkles, creases, and marks from cellophane tape, and there is also some soiling on the bottom of the blue paper. (Photos 12-14) In addition, the fabric on the upper left corner of the purple box is slightly peeled. (Photo 19) As mentioned above, there are some wrinkles and stains due to age-related deterioration, but the works inside do not show any significant stains or damage. Thank you for your consideration.
